Aside from going to the local coffee joints when I was in high school and my twenties, I didn’t put much thought into coffee, and definitely not espresso. But I do have a core memory of when I was working on an annual week-long private cooking gig. We would get up at 4 am to prepare breakfast for 40-50 people, clean up, and then prepare lunch, and repeat for dinner. In the first year, by day three of the gig, I was burnt out, and I had to power through on leftover black coffee from breakfast.
But in year three, I invited a chef friend to lend a hand. He showed up and before he set up any other equipment, he plugged in a beautiful De’Longhi espresso maker and asked if I wanted a cup. I obliged, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. Great caffeine buzz, deliciously smooth plus the ritual involved made me appreciate the drink so much more. Then he told me how much the machine cost, and I really realized how much of a treat it was.
The following year, I purchased my own De’Longhi on Black Friday for around 65% off retail (I think I paid $450 for a machine that retailed for around $1300). With a little time and some due diligence (I’ve done the legwork for you), you can find a great deal on an espresso machine, too.

Our top picks for the best espresso machine Black Friday deals
When it comes to making the perfect espresso (or cappuccino) with the touch of a button, few machines compare to the ease of a Nespresso—and it’s also one of the most popular Black Friday deals, available at a wide range of retailers. This quiet machine works by scanning the Nespresso capsule (this one uses VertuoPlus capsules), then uses centrifugal force to precisely brew the espresso. This model also comes with a bonus Aeroccino frother that makes creamy milk froth with a press of a button.
Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe Coffee Maker & Espresso Machine with Aeroccino Milk Frother
A De’Longhi is always the sign of a good coffee shop, and now’s your chance to save $200 for your own. This machine has a built-in grinder with 8 precision settings, a commercial-style wand that heats up quickly and has the ideal pressure for foam, and a 15 bar Italian pump that perfectly adjusts during the pre-infusion and extraction process. The unexpected feature is the cold brew function, with brews in under 5 minutes without imparting any off flavors.
De'Longhi EC9255M La Specialista Arte Evo Espresso Machine with Cold Brew
If you prefer cold espresso drinks, this is the machine for you. This surprisingly easy to use machine produces cooler brewed shots, so you don’t need to use as much ice to cool down (and dilute) your drink. It’s a premium machine that normally goes for $800, but Black Friday deals are pushing it down to as low as $505 (on Amazon).
Philips 3200 LatteGo Iced Coffee Superautomatic Espresso Machine
Another premium machine, this feature-packed espresso maker can basically make any drink you’d ever want. The extra-sharp ceramic grinder can grind up to 20,000 cups of coffee without wear, and can be adjusted to do ultra-fine to coarse grinds. The whole thing can be cleaned in about 15 seconds, and the machine can brew 5,000 cups without needing to be descaled. You’d normally have to pay $999 for this machine, but Black Friday deals get it as low as $785 (on Amazon).
PHILIPS 4300 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine w/ LatteGo, Silver (EP4347/94)
For a no-fuss, no-work cup of espresso, this simple machine is ideal. It uses L’OR single-serve capsules to automatically make hot or iced drinks. It’s also fast, heating up in 25 seconds.
L’OR Barista System Coffee and Espresso Machine
If you like one-touch convenience but you don’t want to commit to having to buy special capsules or pods, go for this premium espresso machine. It automatically grinds and brews the beans of your choice, and offers a touch screen and programmable settings.
Terra Kaffe TK-01 Super Automatic Espresso Machine
This space-saving machine gives you the quality of a commercial espresso machine, without taking over your counter. The thermoblock heating technology evenly heats water, and the volumetric control dispenses the perfect amount of espresso. Touch controls take the guesswork out of it.
Calphalon Compact Espresso Machine, Home Espresso Machine with Milk Frother, Stainless Steel
This unusually stylish espresso machine has a built-in, adjustable espresso grinder that ensures extra-fresh flavor. It’s also fast—just push the button and your cup is ready in 90 seconds. Normally $629, you can grab this espresso machine for $379 at Walmart’s Black Friday sale.
Café Affetto Automatic Espresso Machine and Milk Frother
No buttons, no touchscreens, no intricate hardware. If you prefer a good old-fashioned cup of espresso, this stovetop maker is a reliable choice that works on any stovetop. It has a capacity of six shots of espresso, unlike other stovetop brewers that can only make a shot or two. Get it for 20% during Milk Street’s Black Friday sale.

What you need to know for Black Friday
When is Black Friday?
Traditionally, Black Friday (with its Black Friday deals) started at midnight after Thanksgiving, with eager shoppers queuing outside department stores right after their turkey dinners, all eager to grab the best deals. But things have changed. Now, these sales often begin as early as November 1st and run through "Cyber Monday," the Monday following Thanksgiving. In 2023, Black Friday will be observed from Friday, Nov. 24, through the weekend to Monday, Nov. 27, 2023.
What deals should I expect on espresso machines?
You’ll be seeing some of the best Black Friday appliance deals on espresso machines. I can’t remember a year when a friend or family member hasn’t messaged me to get some sage advice on which espresso maker to purchase and/or letting me know how awesome their new espresso maker is. Keep an eye out for huge dollar discounts and extras like grinders and cups to go with your new machine.
What kind of espresso maker deals did they have last year?
In recent years, there has been an onslaught of espresso makers on the market, as casual fans and avid espresso drinkers make an investment to avoid spending that “mad money” on a triple shot every day (I call it “mad money” because it’s money you had, then spent, cannot remember on what, and it’s making you mad).
Some of the best espresso machine deals you can find are cup and single-serve coffee makers that have an espresso option; there are updated vintage models that can make espresso on your stovetop, fancy all-around beverage machines with hookups and attachments for espresso, and (my personal preference) a traditional electric espresso maker complete with foaming attachment.
How to get a good deal on espresso machines on Black Friday
Please, please, please make sure you know what you want. You can get a multi-function machine that advertises the capacity to make an espresso, but that doesn’t mean it is necessarily good espresso.
Your best bet is to find yourself a traditional espresso maker so you get what you came for and, if you follow these tips, at an unbelievable value. I highly recommend finding machines that come bundled with grinders and espresso cups but make sure that these extras don’t add too much to the price.price. Suggestion: Look up the cost of the machine on its own and compare it to the bundle to determine the potential markup for the accessories.
How to choose the best espresso machine for you
If you’re the casual espresso drinker who occasionally likes to break up your morning coffee routine with a nice, strong, and bold espresso shot or two, then you should consider a single-serve or single-cup machine.
Just be sure they have a “strength” option so you can be sure to get the full espresso experience. Espresso is not necessarily different from coffee, although some roasts are better than others for that familiar taste.
Espresso specifically refers to the process of how much water pressure, specific grind of the coffee beans, and water to coffee ratio. If your ideal espresso is not only a part of your morning ritual but also a fantastic pre-dinner or (for me) nighttime luxury, then you’ll want to invest in amore traditional machine that provides the highest quality espresso.
Where to find espresso machine Black Friday deals
While premium espresso machines can be found at a discount on their respective brand sites, this Black Friday you’ll also surprisingly find them at Amazon and Walmart as part of Black Friday appliance deals. You should also check out Williams-Sonoma and Seattle Coffee Gear, which are having special Black Friday coffee maker deals and espresso machine promotions.
