I was an avid coffee drinker from age 18 until “a few” years ago (we will save that math for another day). I tapered my coffee use for a while, but recently rekindled my love for coffee when my significant other started using my favorite drip coffee maker.
The familiar aroma of freshly brewed coffee began to fill the house in the mornings, and I decided to pour myself a cup after four or so years of a coffee hiatus. There’s really nothing like a great cup of fresh coffee—but not necessarily from a years-old maker that had been a bargain to begin with. There’s so much room for improvement when your coffee maker just isn’t cutting it.
Black Friday is always my favorite opportunity to upgrade the staple kitchen appliances without breaking the holiday budget. However, shopping the “aisles” of online retailers to find the perfect coffee maker can be tough. That’s why I’ve compiled my favorite Black Friday deals for 2023 so you can start your day off smooth and strong (coincidentally, how I like my coffee).

What you need to know for Black Friday
When is Black Friday?
In the past, Black Friday began at midnight after Thanksgiving, drawing enthusiastic shoppers to queue up outside department stores post-feast, all in pursuit of the best bargains. However, the landscape has shifted. These sales now start as early as November 1, and commonly continue until "Cyber Monday," the Monday after Thanksgiving. For 2023, Black Friday falls on Friday, Nov. 24, stretching through the weekend until Monday, Nov. 27, 2023.
What deals should I expect on coffee makers?
The discounts for coffee makers remain the same as most other Black Friday appliance deals for kitchen essentials, like percentages off and other dollar discounts. But the difference between coffee makers and other appliances, like multi-purpose ovens and blenders, is the vast variety of types of coffee makers. Expect to save a little bit ($5-20) on basic coffee makers, and hundreds on top-of-the-line, does-it-all, pro-grade machines.
What kind of coffee maker deals did they have last year?
Every year, the main coffee maker deal inevitably involves a Keurig. Last year, you’d find the Keurig Mini for $40 (normally $90), for example. Like last year, you can expect to see discounts and potentially bundle deals with free coffee or free K-cups and accessory packages. A huge selection of single-cup brewing systems and a variety of Ninja brand beverage machines, were also all on sale last year, ranging in quality, affordability, and versatility.
How to get a good deal on coffee makers on Black Friday
First, be on the lookout for deals that are “too good to be true.” Take the time to study the model and, definitely, read some reviews. Also, check if the sale item is a previous year’s model that has been replaced by a superior one you can probably find the newer model as well to compare).
However, my number one tip is to know what you are looking for. I can’t stress this enough. If you go into this process having used an automatic or drip coffee maker for most of your life and it’s always gotten the job done, look for those first. That being said, this is a great chance to test the waters with a single-cup or K-cup coffee maker that won’t break the bank.
How to choose the best coffee maker for you?
Let me walk you through a typical morning in our house and why the coffee maker is a huge part of it. Wake up, stretch, and head to the kitchen to the coffee nook (if you don’t have a coffee nook and you have the room for it, I highly recommend it for the ritual alone).
I have a reliable drip coffee maker with a decent capacity (12 cups) that can accommodate a busy work-from-home day, as well as enough coffee for when guests visit. We also have a single-cup brewer that is compact and perfect for quickly filling a reusable to-go mug when we need to be out the door and on the road.
When you are looking at the best coffee makers during Black Friday, I invite you to picture how the model you are considering would feel as a new part of your routine. There are so many choices with a variety of useful additional features, like timers with multiple profiles, foamer attachments, a “strength” setting for when you need to get as much out of your coffee grounds as possible, and more. These features-packed models are fantastic, but ask yourself: Is this something you want to deal with when you’re 10 minutes behind in the morning trying to get on the road for your commute or get the kids to school drop-off? However, if you mainly drink coffee on weekends, or your mornings are a bit more leisurely, you’ll have the time to enjoy the upgrade. Where to find Black Friday deals on coffee makers
The same big retailers that offer Black Friday electronics deals (along with specialty retailers for anything kitchen-related) are offering good deals on coffee makers, including: Williams-Sonoma, Kohl’s, Walmart, and Amazon.
