When is Black Friday?
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and unofficially known as the kick off to the holiday shopping season. This year, Black Friday is on November 24th, 2023. The sales have historically begun at 12:01 a.m. the night/day after Thanksgiving with many stores staying open for early shoppers clamoring to get deals and continuing through the weekend into Sunday night (this year on November 26th) at midnight. But of course, that now flows into Cyber Monday to keep the shopping going.
What deals should I expect on laptops in 2023?
We’re seeing big discounts from 10% to up to 77% across the board from day-to-day, high-tech pro, lightweight on-the-go student and commuter friendly laptops, to gaming laptops. You can also expect deals on accessories like laptop backpacks.
What kind of laptop deals did they have last year
Last year, we saw deals from Dell, Microsoft, HP, Samsung, and older versions of Apple MacBooks. Specifically we saw $200 (25%) off the highly-rated Dell XPS 13 9315 and versions of the HP Envy laptops at a whopping 60% off.
How to get a good deal on laptops on black friday
To get the best deals, loyalty and being in the know with a brand or store can pay off handsomely on Black Friday. We recommend signing up for brand and store email blasts, newsletters, and text alerts, where you can usually put in your email when you scroll to the bottom of their site. Many sites also have deals right on their homepage.

How to choose the best laptop for you?
Three big considerations are: system, use, and budget. Which operating system do you prefer? How will you use your laptop? How much are you looking to spend? When it comes to operating systems: Are you a Mac or PC user? In my house, I’m a Mac lady all the way, while my husband works on Windows, and my kids both have Chromebooks. Being familiar with the systems, how they interface, and which programs and apps work on each is the first step in choosing a laptop.
How do you intend to use your new laptop? For your work or home projects? Is it for your tween or college kid? These distinctions will help you navigate the memory storage, battery life, weight and dimensions, and even aesthetics of your laptop.
