As someone with vibrant pink hair, it’s important that I use the right products—but also the proper heat-styling tools. Blow dryers are arguably my most used hair tool because I don’t like going to bed or leaving the house with a wet head. I recently got my hands on the T3 Featherweight 3i and put it to the test to see whether it would become a staple in my hair care routine. Let’s just say I was pleasantly surprised.

Unboxing and first impressions

The T3 Featherweight 3i arrived at my doorstep in a brown cardboard box similar to nearly every other package I get. The box had an image of the blow dryer and some information about what you could expect to see inside.

Upon opening the box, I was surprised by how small the blow dryer was. Not that being small was a bad thing, but I’m used to using a bulkier device so it took me a second to get acclimated.

I liked how the blow dryer and the two attachments were packaged separately, as it made it easier to assemble. It wasn’t difficult to set up—I just popped the desired attachment into place, plugged it in, and flipped the switch.

How does the T3 Featherweight 3i work?

According to the brand, the T3 Featherweight 3i uses IonAir technology which blasts negative ions into the air to smooth the hair cuticle and speed up the drying process.

Aside from the technology, there are three heat and two speed settings you can choose from depending on your preference. Plus, there’s a lock-in cool shot button for some necessary relief when the heat gets to be a lot on your scalp. If you prefer a hair dryer with more options, the T3 Airluxe Professional has five heat and three speed settings.

T3 Featherweight 3i price

The T3 Featherweight 3i retails for $250 but sometimes it’s on sale for $99 or less. To be completely transparent, I didn’t pay for this blow dryer since the brand sent it to me to try. At face value, $250 is a lot for a blow dryer. I think the price could be better justified if it came with more styling attachments, but it doesn’t. I don’t think I’d pay more than $100 for it, so the sale price accurately represents what I think it’s worth.

Wide concentrator

The wide concentrator is designed to blow dry large sections of hair around the head. It can still be used to style, although that’s not its main function.

Narrow concentrator

The narrow concentrator is thinner allowing for a more precise blow dry whether you want to achieve straighter strands or add waves. It’s meant to be used after drying the majority of your hair with the wide concentrator.

My experience using the T3 Featherweight 3i

Quick dry time

I used the blow dryer for approximately two weeks and tested the two speed settings and three heat options. I was stunned with how quickly my thick, voluminous hair dried. In eight minutes my entire head was completely dry from root to tip on the highest setting and highest fan speed.

When I tested the hair dryer on both the lowest fan speed and temperature it took a bit longer—roughly 15 minutes, although not long in the grand scheme of things.

Easy to use

If there are too many buttons or settings on a styling device like a hair dryer I get frustrated and put it to the side. I liked how intuitive the buttons were to use and that they were easy to click without much added pressure. Instead of letting my hair air dry, I found myself gravitating toward the blow dryer because I knew it would be quick and leave my hair looking its best.

Great results

One of the most important factors when it comes to testing a blow dryer is the results it yields. The T3 Featherweight 3i left my hair completely dry, straight, and shiny. I had several friends and family members ask if I recently had my hair done since it produced such high-quality results.

T3 Featherweight 3i: Is it for you?

Now that I’ve used the T3 Featherweight 3i, I can’t picture myself using a different hair dryer for the foreseeable future. As someone with a lot of hair, I particularly like how quickly it was able to dry my entire head and didn’t leave my arm feeling tired. If you don’t mind the price and you’re someone who wants quick results and a smooth finish when blow drying your hair, this lightweight blow dryer is for you.

Final verdict

Overall, I found the T3 Featherweight 3i to be an efficient and easy-to-use blow dryer that yielded fast, salon-quality results. Do I think it’s worth $250? No, but I do think it’s a steal if you can purchase it while it’s marked down. It left my hair feeling smooth, shiny, and most importantly, dry — which I can get behind.
