Sales at Home Depot, the Atlanta-based home-improvement giant, grew an astonishing 20% last year, to $132.1 billion, as consumers hunkered down and spruced up their living areas. Best sellers included appliances, vinyl-plank flooring and vanities. Some lockdown initiatives will continue post-pandemic: in moving its how-to workshops online, Home Depot expanded their reach and number. An average of five in-store workshops a month became 40 livestream workshops a month. In 2021, the retailer plans to continue to invest in its supply chain, with a goal of providing same- or next-day shipping to 90% of the U.S. population.
