He welcomes anyone to attend his Wife’s services,” Perches Funeral Home in El Paso wrote Tuesday in a [Facebook post](https://www.facebook.com/PerchesFuneralHome/photos/a.1347174618643225/2867142816646390/?type=3&theater "undefined") that has been shared nearly 10,000 times as of Wednesday morning. Reckard, 63, was [one of 22 people who died](https://time.com/5643420/victims-el-paso-shooting/ "undefined") in the mass shooting [at a Walmart in El Paso](https://time.com/5643590/el-paso-family-walmart-shooting-hub/ "undefined") on Aug. 3 — an attack authorities say was intended to target Mexicans. “I mean you didn’t even have to be there to talk to her. You could just look at how she was, how she acted, how she presented herself. She was an awesome lady,” Basco [told local station KFOX14](https://kfoxtv.com/news/local/husband-remembers-wife-of-22-years-after-she-died-in-walmart-shooting "undefined") about his wife, describing her as “an angel.” “We were gonna live together and die together,” he said. “That was our plan.” Reckard’s son, Harry Dean Reckard, [told the New York _Times_](https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/04/us/el-paso-shooting-victims.html "undefined") that after his father died in 1995, his mother found a partner in Basco. The two moved to El Paso a few years ago, he said. Harry Dean Reckard and other family members are planning to travel to El Paso for his mother’s funeral this week. “We want to thank the people of El Paso because without them, I don’t know what we would have done,” Reckard’s daughter-in-law Hilda Nuzzi [told local station KTSM](https://www.ktsm.com/news/public-funeral-for-el-paso-walmart-shooting-victim-with-no-family-in-town/ "undefined"). “Everyone is amazing.” The visitation will take place on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., at Perches Funeral Home Northeast on 4946 Hondo Pass in El Paso.
