The hailstorm hit Guadalajara at around 2 a.m. Sunday, the AFP [reports](https://www.afp.com/en/news/826/freak-hail-storm-strikes-mexican-city-guadalajara-doc-1i37591), when the temperature suddenly dropped after what the BBC [says](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-48821306) were several days of [high summer heat](https://time.com/5614529/europe-heatwave-climate-change/).
