An animator has taken Calvin and Hobbes to a galaxy far, far away.
Brian Kesinger, whose Instagram lists him as an artist at Walt Disney animation studios and Marvel Comics, has drawn a series of cartoons featuring Star Wars: The Force Awakens characters drawn in the same style as Bill Waterson’s classic cartoon series. The drawings pay homage to a number of classic Calvin and Hobbes comics, including the iconic image of Calvin and Hobbes riding a wagon down a hill—which by Kesinger re-designed using Rei and BB-8.
The new drawings represent a small slice of the enthusiastic fan art created following the release of The Force Awakens. The film passed Avatar this week as the highest grossing film in the U.S.
