A trailer carrying approximately $85,000 worth of shredded mozzarella cheese was reported stolen Sunday at a truck stop in central Florida, the Associated Press reports via the Ocala Star Banner.
The driver and his girlfriend were on their way to the Hungry Howie’s pizza distribution center in Lakeland, Fla., and were having a mechanic check out the tractor-trailer near Summerfield, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The Ocala Star Banner estimates that there could have been enough cheese in that trailer to make “tens of thousands of pizza pies.”
