Baby Dory From Finding Dory Is So Cute It Hurts

1 minute read

Pixar just gave you one more reason to see Finding Dory when it released this seriously cute — and touching — clip of Dory as a baby Blue Tang.

In the clip, a tiny Dory with an adorable child’s voice (not yet Ellen DeGeneres) is being taught by her parents, voiced by Diane Keaton and Eugene Levy, how to make new friends. They’re preparing her to explain her memory issues, a lesson both sweet and sad.

“I suffer from short-term mem-memory loss,” the big-eyed Dory says to her parents as the clip begins.

“Yeah! That’s exactly what you say!” they respond enthusiastically. Then they pretend to be potential new friends, and play a game of hide-and-seek.

“We’ll hide, you come and find us,” her dad says.

“Okay, Daddy,” she says happily, for which he corrects her. But as soon as her parents are out of sight, she quickly becomes distracted and swims away — the hallmark of the grown Dory we know and love — giving emotional depth to the plight of the goofy blue fish.
