Nestle’s Sweet Leaf Tea issued a national recall Thursday of 1.5 million bottles over fears of possible glass fragments inside of the containers.
The Texas-based company warned customers that it received four complaints of glass inside their bottles due to glass breaking during the filling process. There were no reported injuries.
The recall of the 16-ounce glass bottles comes “out of an abundance of caution,” the company said in a statement. “Consumers could potentially be cut or injured if ingested,” it added.
Bottles distributed between February and December could be affected, Sweet Leaf Tea said. The recall involves six different flavors: raspberry, half and half lemonade tea, original, green tea with citrus, peach and mint and honey.
