A new company has taken the copper-toned photo trend to its logical conclusion: Sunglasses that trap every waking moment in amber.

The startup, Tens, describes the new sunglasses as a “real life photo filter” that shades the world in an “uplifting tint” reminiscent of a photo from that golden-age of uplifting tints, the 1970’s.

The company launched a crowdsourced fundraiser on Wednesday with a fundraising goal of $16,000. By Thursday, the crowds had raised more than triple the funds. Judging from the initial response, the real life photo filters, priced at $61 a pair, was a gold-plated idea waiting to happen.
