Moviegoers around the world know Morgan Freeman for his amazing voice. Now, the film star has explained how he acquired the ability to speak that way.
“I went to school to study how to be an actor and in that school, Los Angeles City College, I had a voice and diction instructor who was very good at his job,” Freeman told comedian Jimmy Kimmel on his show Wednesday. “You had to learn to speak and sound your final consonants.”
Kimmel, who described his own voice as sounding like a clown, seemed surprised that Freeman had picked up his voice in school. “So you actually learned something in college,” Kimmel replied. “I learned how to drink beer out of a funnel.”
