After months of speculation, Rachel McAdams confirmed to TheWrap on Monday that she will star opposite Benedict Cumberbatch in Marvel’s upcoming Doctor Strange movie.
The True Detective star will play the female lead, though Marvel has not yet announced exactly what character that will be. The movie centers on Stephen Vincent Strange (Cumberbatch), a former neurosurgeon who—after a terrible accident—begins exploring the mystical world and becomes Earth’s protector against magical villains and threats.
Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor are also onboard for the film.
