Get your battle armor ready: Xena: Warrior Princess just might be coming back to television.
Sources inside NBC tell The Hollywood Reporter that the network is looking for a writer to bring back the beloved series, which ran in syndication from 1995 to 2001. The show’s original executive producers, Robert Tapert and Sam Raimi, are apparently already on board.
It’s unclear whether the original star, Lucy Lawless (who is married to Tapert), would appear in the new version, though it seems there is a desire inside the network to have her involved in some way.
The project is considered a “modern reboot” and insiders say there’s hope to launch it for the 2016 season.
