Though Jeffrey Tambor is currently starring on Amazon’s Transparent, he told Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night that he mostly gets recognized as George Sr. from Arrested Development. People shout famous lines at him — like “No touching!” — but that’s the least of his problems. People also send him frozen bananas, because his character famously owned Bluth’s Original Frozen Banana Stand.
“When I go to a hotel, it’s a good chance that the chef will have sent up frozen bananas,” Tambor explains. “But I HATE frozen bananas.”
So what does he do with the unwanted treats? “I wait for them to melt,” the actor says. “But guess what they don’t do? Melt.”
The struggle is real for Tambor, who doesn’t want to offend the chefs by putting the bananas in the hallway and doesn’t want to wreak havoc on the plumbing by flushing them down the toilet.
What we don’t understand is why he doesn’t just go ahead and sell them.
