S ad news for everyone who was rooting for Jessica Williams to take Jon Stewart’s seat when he leaves The Daily Show later this year: the popular correspondent tweeted Sunday night that she will not be getting the gig.
While the comedy world fixed its attention on Saturday Night Live’s 40th anniversary special, Williams quashed rumors that she could take over the show in a series of tweets.
We can only hope that Williams does indeed keep trolling on the Daily Show for many years to come, in or out of the host’s seat.
