Everybody — especially Kelly Clarkson, we now know — has been super pumped for today’s release of Taylor Swift’s new album, 1989. At a concert in Buffalo, NY, this weekend, Clarkson treated fans to a cover of “Shake It Off,” Swift’s ultra-catchy forget-the-haters anthem from the new album.
She starts off with a very soulful, stripped-down, Clarksonian take on the tune before launching into the song’s original, dancey mode during the chorus. Fans were, of course, really into it, as was Tay herself:
Now we just have to wait patiently until Clarkson covers all the songs from the new album.
