During its E3 press conference on Monday, Sony announced that LittleBigPlanet 3 is in development for PlayStation 4. The platformer is being released this November. During a demonstration on stage, developers showed off the new abilities of the game’s protagonist, Sackboy, including flying and wall-jumping. The game’s creators also introduced new companion characters Oddsock and Swoop. The characters have unique abilities that can play off one another in four-player mode.
LittleBigPlanet 2, the last numbered entry in the series, launched for PlayStation 3 in 2011. Last year, Sony unveiled a free-to-play service dubbed LittleBigPlanet Hub to encourage players to create content for the title.
