Catch and Kill is a thriller. The fact that it’s all true only makes the story that much more frightening. Ronan Farrow’s Pulitzer Prize-winning reporting on the #MeToo movement for the New Yorker—uncovering sexual abuse at the Weinstein Company, CBS and NBC, among other places—already amounts to page-turning prose. But Farrow zooms out to capture the context in Catch and Kill, framing the book around his own pursuit of Weinstein and Weinstein’s incredible efforts to bury the story. As he paints a damning portrait of conspiracies, spies and some of the biggest players in politics and media, Farrow makes a compelling argument that in order to stop harassment and assault, we may have to tear down whole institutions.
