Noliwe Rooks

Rooks is the chair of and professor of Africana Studies at Brown University, where she's also the founding director of the Segrenomics Lab. Her interdisciplinary work, reflected in four books and numerous publications, critically examines the intersections of race, gender, and culture, earning her national recognition and funding from the Ford Foundation, the Mellon Foundation, and the Woodrow Wilson School. She is the author of A Passionate Mind in Relentless Pursuit: The Vision of Mary McLeod Bethune
