New Interest

For twelve years Ralph H. Jones, editor of the Negro Philadelphia Independent, had been an active Democrat. Last week he enrolled as a member of the Republican Party. “I cannot remain a Democrat and have a conscience,” explained Editor Jones. “[To] live with the muddleheaded leadership both locally and nationally “as now exemplified by the Democratic rulers is not to the best interest of the Negroes.”
