Alarmed at the plight of U. S. birds whose food supply has been buried under deep snow, Audubon Society officials recently went to the Post Office Department with an idea. Last week First Assistant Postmaster General Arch Coleman announced that bird-lovers may mail cracked corn and small grain, to be scattered by rural mail carriers along their routes.
