The Kremlin, that ancient maze of walls, cathedrals and chambers from which the Communists have spread their rule, is about to become a historic show place. Presumably, Malenkov & Co. intend to rid themselves of another feared symbol of the reign of Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin. Malenkov and Party Secretary Khrushchev packed up and left their Kremlin apartments last winter, moving into new homes near by. Foreign Minister Molotov has recently been receiving most of his visitors in the Foreign Office’s skyscraper in Smolenskaya Square, though he still retains a suite at the Kremlin. When workers finish a 46-story government office building on the banks of the Moscow River, the offices of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet (Russia’s rubber-stamp parliament) will probably move out of the Kremlin too.
