On Broadway last week, theatergoers were still flocking to Kiss Me, Kate, the musicomedy hit based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew. In the hinterland, to woo theatergoers to her touring production of The Taming of the Shrew, Margaret Webster was billing the old comedy with a new subtitle: “The Original Kiss Me, Kate.”
