The first of Bing Crosby’s $30,000-a-week transcribed series for Philco—with Bob Hope as guest star—was waxed last week, but ran two minutes overtime. Producer Bill Morrow put it up to Philco: whose lines should he cut—Crosby’s or Hope’s? Philcomen went into a huddle, came out with a decision for audiences to applaud: “Cut the commercial.”
