In picturesque Tashkent last week, Farmer George Lomakin was tried for sabotage. “You are accused of failure to weed adequately,” rattled off the Bolshevik prosecutor, “and of using too much fertilizer.” According to the Soviet official news agency, Farmer Lomakin was then stood up before a firing squad and shot.
