An operation that any important fellow of the American College of Surgeons would like to have among his case records was the appendectomy which unpretentious Drs. John Walmsley Barnaby Jr. and T. W. Griffin performed in Baltimore last week on Marcia Shepherd’s 30-minute-old baby.The appendix and a knuckle of bowel projected through a rupture in the infant’s abdominal wall. That hole the surgeons also mended, then placed the tiny patient in an incubator to recuperate.
