Nation: FOREIGN AID: HOW IT WAS SPENT IN 1962

2 minute read
TIME

Last month the House of Representatives whacked $998 million off President Kennedy’s $4.5 billion foreign aid request. With a Senate showdown approaching, the Administration last week made public the rundown on how foreign aid money was spent in fiscal 1962. Economic aid includes some support for military efforts; between 65¢ to 70¢ of each foreign aid dollar goes for military spending.
