Army & Navy – MANPOWER: Final Figure?

At last the Army said what it wanted: 7,500,000 soldiers by the end of 1943: 3,300,000 in the Ground Forces, 2,000,000 in training and the Services of Supply, 2,200,000 in the Air Forces—as big an air force as can be maintained. Said Major General Joseph McNarney: “In 1943 we will more than double our air force, which, with help from our allies, should insure superiority in every theater of action.”
