At White Sands, N.Mex., Army scientists succeeded for the first time last week in maneuvering (up & down, right & left) a German V-2 rocket in flight. It was the most important advance in guided-missile technique the armed services had publicly admitted since the war’s end. It was also a step—but only a step—along the road to a push-button war.
