1 minute read
TIME

Seldom in peace time has an official of one government attacked the personality of an official of another government as Lord Marley, chief opposition whip in the British House of Lords, last week attacked Prussian Premier Hermann Wilhelm Göring. A Laborite with mildly Communistic despite his title, amiable Lord Marley arrived in Manhattan last week to on the plight of Nazi victims in Germany. “Broadly speaking,” said he, “we believe that of those actually in control of the German Government the worst by far is Göring. He certainly was a lunatic. He certainly was a paranoiac. He also is a drug addict. Of all this we have definite proofs. . . . “What is emerging from my talks with other opponents of persecution of minorities in Germany is the realization that only united action by those threatened by Hitler can secure the defeat of Fascism. . . . Only one person in ten of those now suffering persecution in Nazi Germany is a Jew.”
