“To eliminate guesswork and tradition from golf instruction,” the Professional Golfers’ Association hired a movie camera geared to take 3,200 pictures per second, sent it to Atlanta last week to photograph Robert Tyre (“Robot”) Jones Jr., world’s best golfer, making his shots. George Sargent, onetime P. G. A. president, superintended the photographing. He said that pictures would also be taken of England’s Joyce Wethered, foremost female stylist, and ‘of graceful old Harry Vardon. The pictures will be distributed to P. G. A. members to teach them how to teach.
