AERONAUTICS: Lucky Lindy

Chairman Harold McMillan Bixby of the St. Louis Chamber of Commerce knows how irked Charles Augustus Lindbergh becomes when he hears the song, “Lucky Lindy,” by Abel Zaer. Last week, Mr. Bixby told that at a Lindbergh party in Manhattan, he and others sang “Lucky Lindy” at Col. Lindbergh on purpose. Col. Lindbergh made no comment. Next day, flying Mr. Bixby and another of the singers back to St. Louis, the Lindbergh plane dived, climbed, dived, climbed, dived, all morning. Mr. Bixby is a good air sailor but the other singer, Harry Knight, became “a rich green” with airsickness. Then Col. Lindbergh turned around and said: “Now sing ‘Lucky Lindy’.”
