Mortimer, his famed doubles partner, playing against each other in the annual singles “Gold Racquets” tourney at Tuxedo Park, N. Y. Pell won the first game, 15-6; Mortimer the second, 15-8; Pell the third, 18-13; Mortimer the fourth, 15-10; Pell the fifth and the tournament, 15-9.
