What happens when a chic industrial designer teams up with a leading maker of personal weather gauges? A gizmo that looks sleek and works great, too. The new Starck with Oregon Scientific weather clocks range in price from $75 to $300, and are designed by Philippe Starck. The top model Multi Large projects the time onto your ceiling and reports the phase of the moon. The clock can also tell barometric pressure, predicted weather for the next 12 to 18 hours and the temperature and humidity — all transmitted from a small wireless sensor that you can place about 25 m from the main unit. It’s a stylish way to figure out which raincoat to wear.
