On the eighth anniversary of the United Nations, Prime Minister Daniel Malan’s Nationalist Party warned last week that South Africa will walk out of the U.N. if India and other Asia-African nations persist in bringing up motions to condemn South Africa’s bitter apartheid (racial segregation). Said Malan: “The U.N. is a failure, a cancer eating at the peace and tranquillity of the world. Unless it is radically reformed, it should disappear from the face of the world.”
