Fans of the Batman franchise needn’t wait any longer for their first glimpse at the new Batman — and perhaps more importantly, the new Batmobile. Man of Steel director Zack Snyder just released this preview image on his Twitter account.
It’s not known whether or not the person wearing the suit is Ben Affleck, who will play Batman in the upcoming Batman/Superman movie, or if it’s just a stand-in. In either case, the short stubby ears in the new Batsuit are reminiscent of the stubby horns Affleck donned in his much-maligned previous superhero role as Daredevil.
Snyder had previously teased this rear shot of the new Batmobile under a tarp which showed wheels similar to the Tumbler Batman drove in the Christopher Nolan Dark Knight trilogy, but the latest image confirms a return to a Batmobile design more aligned with traditional designs.
The new Batman/Superman movie is slated for 2016.
