“What do you want to be when you grow up?” Little kids often give similar answers to that question, before they learn about dozens of other jobs. Really, the options are endless. And by the time they get to pick one, there’ll be new jobs—some we can’t even imagine. It’s never too early for young people to explore the career paths that match their unique talents and interests.
TIME for Kids is building a new free digital product for young people ages 8 to 14 that invites them to discover an ever-expanding world of careers and explore the many paths to a future of meaningful work. The easy-to-navigate product will host videos, articles, and interactive quizzes, and is supported by standards-aligned materials for teachers and resources for parents. Please check out the beta website here.
For this Advisory Group opportunity, we are recruiting young people ages 8-14 as well as parents/caregivers and educators of young people kids in that age range.
Do Now:
There are several opportunities to offer feedback and support. We appreciate your time and input.
1. Survey – please take a few minutes to review the website and click on the survey link (ti.me/3x8ritR) to be directed to the questions. Review of the website and completion of the survey is estimated to take about 60 minutes and we ask that you complete it by Monday, June 24th.
2. Focus Groups – we are hosting hour-long virtual sessions to garner feedback on the product. Each will be a guided discussion through the site with prompts for discussion.
3. One-on-One Sessions – prefer to provide feedback in a smaller setting? We will be conducting sessions with individuals one-on-one. Please email tfk@time.com if you’d like to set up a time.
Important Note: to participate in a focus group or one-on-one session, you must complete a consent form. Please click here to complete. A parent or legal guardian must complete the form on behalf of a child under the age of 18.
If you’re looking for additional details about participating in Advisory Groups, an informational video can be found here.
