Bill O’Reilly’s Ratings Are Climbing Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations

Despite Bill O’Reilly’s sexual harassment allegations, Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor viewership is climbing.

USA Today reports that the show had 3.7 million and 3.8 million views on Monday April 3, and Tuesday, April 4, respectively. That’s up 14% from the same two nights the week before.

The news of his increasing viewership comes after the New York Times first reported that five different women received settlements totaling $13 million after they accused to the O’Reilly Factor host of sexual harassment — an accusation that caused more than 60 sponsors pulled advertisements from his show.

Fox said in a statement to the Times earlier this month: “Notwithstanding the fact that no current or former Fox News employee ever took advantage of the 21st Century Fox hotline to raise a concern about Bill O’Reilly, even anonymously, we have looked into these matters over the last few months and discussed them with Mr. O’Reilly.”

On Sunday, Fox News parent Twenty-First Century Fox said it would investigate a sexual harassment claim against O’Reilly, the Associated Press reports, after a former regular guest on O’Reilly’s show Wendy Walsh phoned a complaint into the network’s corporate hotline last week. “21st Century Fox investigates all complaints and we have asked the law firm Paul Weiss to continue assisting the company in these serious matters,” the company said in a statement, according to the AP.
