De Niro has been an [outspoken critic of Trump](http://time.com/4636913/robert-de-niro-on-inauguration-boycott/?iid=sr-link4 "undefined") who [recently praised](http://time.com/4526602/robert-deniro-response-jon-voight-on-trump/ "undefined") Meryl Streep’s Golden Globes speech criticizing Trump. Because [Trump called](http://time.com/4628378/golden-globes-2017-donald-trump-meryl-streep/?iid=sr-link4 "undefined") [Streep](http://time.com/4444268/meryl-streep-florence-foster-jenkins-interview/?iid=sr-link5 "undefined") “overrated” on Twitter in response, De Niro’s been bracing himself for a possible critique. Bouncing off the idea that the best defense is a good offense, De Niro created his own parody Trump “mean tweets,” which he recently read at a rally protesting the President. On Tuesday’s episode Meyers read a few of the tweets aloud on his show and they included some real zingers. “De Niro’s career is a disaster. He was passed over for _Godfather 4_ and _The Magnificent Seven._ Pathetic!” Meyers read, followed by: “De Niro should give back his Oscars.
