Quantico star Priyanka Chopra has been tapped as the newest face of Pantene, Refinery 29 reports. Although Chopra has some pretty flawless hair to show off in Pantene ads and commercials, she joins celebrities such as Selena Gomez and Ronda Rousey in the company’s “Strong is Beautiful” campaign.
Chopra, who will serve as Pantene’s global ambassador, praises the brand’s sense of empowerment. She told Refinery 29, “Pantene empowers people to be strong. Women have been told for years that if you are strong and outspoken, then you are ‘wrong.’ Pantene tells you that it’s alright to be strong.”
Chopra garners much of her fortitude from her own hair. She explained, “A lot of our strength in our beauty and confidence comes in our hair… My relationship with my hair is very intimate, and I think that applies for most women.” Her locks are also a symbol of her feminism. She said, “Being a proud feminist helped me come to terms with who I am and what my beauty stands for… Beauty needs to be about empowering women. You can say, ‘My hair feels beautiful and looks beautiful and I can own that, because it’s about me and how it makes me feel — not about how someone else reacts when they see me.'”
