After Bruno Mars’ magical Carpool Karaoke segment aired Tuesday night, Late Late Show fans thought that would be the only James Corden-celebrity driving duet of the week. However, the British TV host has proved everyone wrong by releasing an epic, Christmas-themed Carpool three days later – starring none other than Mariah Carey.
The clip begins with the pop queen asking a Christmas-jumper-wearing Corden for a special request – to sing her winter classic ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’, in return for helping him with his present shopping. “I don’t want to ask for something too expensive… I want you to sing my song,” she says.
Carey and Corden begin their duet but after just a few seconds the action cuts to unreleased Carpool Karaoke scenes from segments filmed earlier in the year, showing Adele, Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, Chris Martin, Gwen Stefani, Elton John, Lady Gaga and the Red Hot Chili Peppers joining in on the fun.
“Oh Mariah Carey, merry Christmas!” Corden proclaims, as the segment ends. Watch the seasonal clip below:
