She’s out of the woods and out to dinner!
Hillary Clinton was spotted dining with Ralph Lauren at the designer’s swanky restaurant The Polo Bar on Wednesday night in New York City.
Fellow diner Jon Steinberg posted a photo to Twitter of the former presidential candidate chatting with model Christie Brinkley, 63.
“The love in the room for Hillary was palpable,” a source told PEOPLE. “She had a big beautiful smile and it was impossible not to feel the love aimed at her. She was warm and friendly with everyone in the room.”
“Hillary gave Brinkley a big hug when she was her,” the insider added.
Lauren, 77, is a longtime friend of Clinton’s and created several suits for the former secretary of state during the campaign — including all three presidential debate looks, her opening campaign rally and her speech at the Democratic National Convention.
InStyle Editor-in-Chief Laura Brown was also at the exclusive eatery on Wednesday night — sitting near Clinton. The two shared a sweet moment together.
“Hillary Clinton was next to me at dinner tonight,” Brown wrote on Instagram. “She was eating burgers with Ralph Lauren at the Polo Bar. Big, juicy, fantastic burgers. And wine, and chocolate sundaes.”
“I profiled her five years ago,” Brown explained. “When she was leaving, I jumped up and hugged her. ‘Beaches and speeches,’ I said, referring to a quote she gave me about what she’d be doing in 2016. ‘I saw you over there! I love that you came over,’ she replied. ‘I love you, Hillary Clinton,’ I said. And I hugged her again.”
It was the second time the 69-year-old former first lady was spotted dining out this week.
On Tuesday, she posed for a picture with rapper Fat Joe and cosmetic dentist Mojgan Fajiran inside the 119-year-old family-owned East Harlem Italian restaurant Rao’s.
Former president Bill Clinton can be seen in the shot as well, wearing a grey suit and a red tie while talking to a fellow diner. Hillary, meanwhile, is smiling to the camera — wearing a black and white tweed jacket over a fuchsia top.
“Me and the Doc @mojgandds ran into Bill and Hillary at Rao’s NYC #upnyc,” Fat Joe, 46, captioned the shot — shared to his Instagram account.
After delivering a concession speech following Donald Trump‘s surprise presidential election victory, Clinton has remained largely out of the public eye. She returned home to Chappaqua, New York, where she was spotted on a few hikes in Westchester County by supporters who encountered her on a trail.
On Nov. 30, Clinton made a public appearance at New York’s UNICEF Snowflake Ball, surprising Katy Perry (and practically everyone else) and presenting the 32-year-old singer with UNICEF’s Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award.
“[Katy] has the spirit and the energy and the compassion that Audrey Hepburn brought to her work for UNICEF,” the former Democratic presidential nominee shared in her speech, also describing Perry as “someone whose powerful voice and creative lyrics remind us when you get knocked down to get back up.”
