Stephen Colbert has made his feelings about Donald Trump winning the U.S. presidential election perfectly clear. But during Wednesday night’s episode of The Late Show, he put a new twist on his disappointment by turning it into a Sinatra-style song.
After showing a clip from a recent Trump speech in which the president-elect spoke about the surprise he felt on election night, the host went on to riff off what Trump reportedly told his wife Melania before the results had rolled in. “Baby we’re not gonna win tonight, the crooks on the news were right,” Colbert crooned. “Would’ve been a thrill to lock up Hill, but baby we’re not gonna win tonight.”
