Over the last few years, Starbucks’ holiday cups have seen their fair share of controversy, but this year attention has turned to McDonald’s winter-themed coffee cups.
The fast food chain’s festive cups are supposed to feature warm mittens straight out of a winter wonderland.
However, the joke-spotters of the internet have weighed in as some artistic ne’er-do-well added a few scribbles of a pen and now some people interpret the image as very NSFW (and some people can’t unsee the updated image).
The altered cup came to the internet’s attention after it was shared on Reddit, but, as Buzzfeed pointed out, it was actually uploaded to the REBRN website before that. The cup has been racing around the internet ever since. McDonald’s has not yet responded to the internet’s concerns.
