Susan Olsen, radio host and former child actor, was fired from her radio hosting gig after attacking a guest on Facebook.
Olsen, best known for playing Cindy Brady on ’70s family sitcom The Brady Bunch, got into a heated discussion last week with openly gay actor Leon Acord-Whiting, on the show she co-hosted called Two Chicks Talkin’ Politics, which airs on the Internet-based network, LA Talk Radio.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Acord-Whiting criticized the host online after his appearance, accusing her of spreading “outrageous misinformation” given her support for Donald Trump.
“It is wildly irresponsible for LA Talk Radio to allow a Trump fanatic to co-host one of their programs, where she can spew her idiotic lies unchecked,” Acord-Whiting wrote, Us Weekly reports. “This isn’t just disagreeing on, say, tax plans or foreign policy. Susan Olsen spreads outrageous misinformation and it is dangerous and unprofessional.”
Olsen fired back sharply, using an anti-gay slur. Acord-Whiting posted screenshots of messages he says the former host sent him, and New York Magazine reports the rant included: “What a true piece of s—t you are! Lying f–-t! I hope you meet your karma SLOWLY AND PAINFULLY.”
On Friday, LA Talk Radio responded to the incident on its Facebook page where it also said that it had fired Olsen.
“We will not tolerate hateful speech by anyone associated with our radio station and have severed our ties with a host that veered off the direction in which we are going,” the statement reads.
