Movie lovers may be most likely to settle down on the evening of October 31 with a classic horror film, but those weary of ghouls and chainsaws can choose to celebrate a different holiday this Halloween: Mount Rushmore’s 75th birthday. Since its completion on this day in 1941, the monument has inspired reverence for presidents past, ire over its disregard for Native American history and, as with anything so iconically American, plenty of movie moments.
