Kelly Clarkson got in the Halloween spirit over the weekend by dressing up as none other than fellow vocal powerhouse Sia. Decked out in a signature platinum-blonde Sia wig, Clarkson took to Facebook Live to perform an off-the-cuff a cappella version of the pop juggernaut’s super-popular “Chandelier.” It’s a challenging song that requires a full range, but Clarkson was definitely up to the task.
The video starts off as candidly as ever—Clarkson didn’t even realize the recording had begun—but she transitions seamlessly from sheepish giggles to launching into the song’s opening lyrics. And this isn’t just a snippet; she sings the whole emotional thing through, proving once again why she remains the consummate American Idol winner.
“I love that song, everybody loves that song,” she says lightly at the end, after admitting that it’s surprisingly difficult to see through the wig’s long bangs. Clarkson, who’s recently been on vocal rest, raising her young children, and writing a kids’ book, is planning on releasing a soul album in 2017.
