Katy Perry Just Gave Herself the Best Birthday Present Ever

Birthdays are of course the best time to #TreatYoSelf, and while most people opt for expensive clothing and decadent desserts, Katy Perry went a different route when she turned the big 3-2. The ‘Teenage Dream’ singer gifted herself with the opportunity to vote for the first possible female president in U.S. history.

“Gave myself the best birthday present ever by voting today,” Perry wrote on Instagram on Tuesday night. She gave a shoutout to her almost-twin Hillary Clinton, who turns 69 today: “Wish @hillaryclinton a Happy Birthday tomorrow with your EARLY vote” and told voters to go to www.rockthevote.com to get informed about their polling stations.

This definitely isn’t the first time Perry has voiced that she’s “#WithHer.” Perry performed at the Democratic National Convention, campaigned across the country and proudly wore a ‘Nasty Woman’ t-shirt reclaiming a Trump insult against Clinton.

Perry’s post also highlighted the trend of early voting. While many of us are waiting until November 8th to cast our ballots, twelve states will roll out early in-person voting by the end of this week. So, by all means, #TreatYoSelf by hitting the polls like Perry.
